Great podcast until Sam Harris interview
This podcast was one of my favourites until the Sam Harris interview. I really liked what he had to say about consciousness etc, but then it took a turn. It’s absurd to entertain a conversation between two white dudes about their perspective on racial and identity politics. This episode takes an ahistorical, “colour blind” approach to talking about race relations with no disclaimer at the beginning that the curators disagree with Harris. If there was a disclaimer in the Andrew Yang episode that the curators didn’t “necessarily” agree with his universal basic income idea, there should have been a disclaimer that the curators do not share Sam Harris’ over simplified understanding of race. Ridiculous and irresponsible curation of this episode by the Next Big Idea team. I’m not asking for the censorship of ideas— but the host did nothing to push back against Harris’ privileged perspective.

Wow
This is so interesting! This podcast is a fantastic mix of history, science, current affairs, and sociology. Really cool way to look at current issues facing society!

I just listened to the first episode and the interviewer keeps saying “Right, right” and it was so annoying to listen to! I wish that he would’ve just let the guest expert talk.
