First impressions
Ethier, episode 4. Denis was using who’s little blue car? Didn’t anyone pick up on that?! It’s rough to base a podcast on telephone recordings. If the interview isn’t disciplined things can meander to the edge of snoring. Also, listeners are at the mercy of audio quality. I’m at Ep 1, will see how it goes. Update, the audio experience is BAD for listening to parts recorded from telephone conversations. Ugh. Add to it poor English, thick accents, and it becomes a LOT of rewinding work to catch things. The need to constantly adjust volume between LOUD ads, tinny telephone parts, and the Host’s volume is exhausting. Three stars because the Advertisements are also WAY HYPED and obnoxious. I don’t mind ads, but having amped-up blabbering every five minutes when you’re relaxing at night… meh. Not sure I’ll be able to stick around. What I DO like about DR is his wonderful ability to stick his nose where people don’t want him and poke the bear when it’s vital to getting to the truth. And he does it with absolute finesse. No bones about it. It’s great. Brave.

More reviews of The Next Call with David Ridgen
I was hoping it would be like David’s other podcast, Someone Knows Something which it brilliant, but this just isn’t nearly as good. Way too much talking from the people being interviewed and lacking the usual feel. Please do another SKS.
