Don’t meet your heroes…
Followed Mark for a long time, from his years climbing to the early days of GJ. Always a big fan of his approach, toward life and alpinism and fitness. A true leader in his day, and never afraid to go it alone, despite the naysayers. Loved his writing and vision. Stoked to hear he had a podcast. But I was woefully wrong. After a few episodes I had to give up. No longer the renegade or revolutionary. Mark had fallen into an echo chamber of egos, former gym buffs, doing everything to mock the world, and desperately try to convince it of their relevance. But clearly the world had moved on, and instead of learning from those they criticize, the hosts had become the very thing which they detest. Pro tip: Don’t meet your heroes, or listen to their podcasts, especially when you thought they were better than this.

I don’t care for the format of the podcast overall. I’ve listed to ~12 episodes in their entirety. Seems like a bit of an echo chamber. I’d personally like to hear a monologue from the cast once in a while.

This is 100% the world’s worst fitness podcast which makes it one of the best, fitness included. Mark Twight and Michael Blevins are true to themselves and they explore ideas, art, and action. In a world of high-fructose empty content, this podcast stands out as being true to itself.

Back to the OG crew. Kegan felt forced and fake, wanting to be like blevins and mark. A great shift back to the original
