16. Delirium Tremens aka DTs
Listen now
Description
Alcoholism can affect anyone regardless of age, gender, race, socioeconomic status, or country. It is estimated that 1 in 8 Americans meet the Alcohol Use Disorder criteria.  Given this information, as a nurse, you will more than likely care for patients withdrawing from alcohol regardless of the unit/speciality you work.  In this week's episode I discuss Delirium Tremens, DTs, a serious and potentially life threatening condition associated with alcohol withdrawal.  Learn the pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, nursing care and more so you'll be prepared to provide the best care during clinicals, be able to answer questions correctly on exams, and know exactly what to do when you become a nurse.  Please help me reach more students by leaving a review and subscribe so you don't miss an episode.  All My Best,  Cynthia, RN CCRN
