And I thought illustration was a dying art...
I wanted to be an illustrator early in my career, but I felt that there was no place for illustration in a photgraphic and stock clip-art world. Well, Chris Oatley is proof of how wrong I was, and even at this point in my career, he is reviving that old spark in me to return to the field, even if it's just as a hobbyist. His enthusiasm and passion carries through every episode, and I'm really enjoying his interviews with friends and colleagues - they get me fired up and demonstrate how creative people can stay engaged and stoked against the many career obstacles they encounter, especially when starting up. The "Tinkerbell" episode was great listening - even if you don't have the movie, to listen to this one is a look into the minutae of an professionally produced animated feature film. And finally, his video tutorials are icing on the cake - I learn so much from them, and the idea of a conversation over a timelapse of a work in progress is brilliant. Don't stop, Chris - we need you!!
