Blima Lorber's Obligations of Memory Interview Blima Lorber is a Brazilian journalist, and daughter of Holocaust survivors David and Malka - both born in Chelm, Poland. David was one of the few survivors of what is probably the first Holocaust death march that happened on 1st December 1939, the Chelm/Hrubieszów Death March, and also survived the terrible conditions in Russian Gulags. Malka was a teenager when the Second World War started and also had to leave some of her family in order to survive in Russian Kolkhozes. Both had to cope with Stalin’s politics. Blima has a Master's in Jewish Culture as a Holocaust researcher her dissertation thesis is about an unknown subject: Brazilians in the Holocaust and in Resistance Against Nazi-Fascism, which will also be part of this series. She is also a researcher for Arqshoah – Archives of the Shoah -https://www.arqshoah.com/ and for Vozes do Holocausto – Holocaust Voices – a collection about survivors, partisans and rescuers who went to Brazil.
