GENERATIONS APART: WHAT WE CARRY...! a film by Jeffery B. Giesener This is Jeffery Giesener, Founder of Jewish Culture and Holocaust & October 7 and Stand Against HATE International Communities and creator and producer of GENERATIONS APART: WHAT WE CARRY....! Thanks for joining us for my latest film release for our Fall 2024 International Film Festival. GENERATIONS APART: WHAT WE CARRY...! The documentary film offers a profoundly emotive review of Intergenerational Survivor Trauma, PTSD challenges, and The Science Of Epigenics. It is a must-see for anyone dealing with any or all of the above issues. For years, I thought I was all alone and didn't know why I would have recurring Nazi/Holocaust nightmares as both of my Survivor parents NEVER spoke about their Shoah experiences and never presented any signs of outward trauma. No screaming or impatience. No outer disturbances. Yes, like other Holocaust survivors, they only wanted the best for their children (my sister and me), but they never spoke about their Holocaust experiences. They only offered us a loving home environment. I knew my parents were different, and I didn't have most of their relatives. There was only one Grandmother on my father's side, who lived in London, England, and whom I only saw once in a few years growing up. But what about and why all those years of nightmares and traumas that can be traced back to the fifth grade? My Mom was a survivor of Auschwitz; she would never ever speak to anyone about her experiences. That discussion was VERBOTEN! She was also blocked from reaching British Mandate Palestine by the British in 1947, when their ship Tierse, sailing from Italy to Palestine carrying about 2,000 other survivors, was turned away from the Port of Tel Aviv and rerouted to Cyprus. She spent another horrid year there. My Dad escaped Nazi Berlin at only the age of 15, being placed on the last Kindertransport from the Hadassah Aliyot program out of Berlin with 100 other Berliner teenagers in 1935, just a couple of months after The Nuremberg Laws were passed and were being enforced. His destination was Palestine and Port Haifa, where he arrived alone in 1936 and lived at Kibbutz Yagur. Dad also fought in the War of Independence in the Hagenah Air Force at 28 in 1948. He met Mom on the Golden Beech in Tel Aviv, and they were married in Tel Aviv in 1950. They were sponsored to come to America in 1954, pregnant with my sister, and I was born there in 1958. It wasn't until 2019 when I was introduced to a second-generation Survivor Group in San Diego Generations of the Shoah Group in San Diego, CA, USA, that I realized I wasn't alone and that others also suffered and were continuing to suffer as I have. Wow! This was a game-changer. WORD OF CAUTION and a TRIGGER WARNING: Some of the scenes in the film may be disturbing to some, as this film contains Holocaust Content, video, photos, and discussions about Intergenerational Survivors' Trauma, PTSD, and Epigenetic Science. Caution is advised, and the film is for Mature Audiences 13 and older. Jeffery B.
