August 2020: Black Stories Matter
Listen now
Description
The essence of our organization is to create community one story at a time. We hold space for people to tell their stories and, share their lived experiences and, more importantly, for others to simply listen. Time and again this has created connections and strengthened our Tucson community. Odyssey Storytelling is proud to present a special event to honor and enhance Black voices. Many storytelling organizations have held similar shows across the country, and similarly we are donating any proceeds for this event to the Tucson chapter of the NAACP. Storytellers include: Bryan Castle Stephanie Lyonga Davia Moore Bo Phillips Martha T. and William O. Wills Stay tuned after the stories for an interview with Doris Snowden, president of the Tucson NAACP, conducted by Odyssey executive director Ana Montañez, followed by a final message from the Wills family about Sunshine Ministries. Check out the video version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MW1cDzY2kwI The Black Stories Matter show was recorded online and curated by Darryl Graves.
