“I generally really enjoy the show but it is at its very best when it keeps to its original idea of focusing on actors or comedians and going deep on their background and evolution as artists. For me, the show becomes very different when it strays from this core idea. When the show features sports stars it has a very different feel and I find myself losing interest. A recent episode with a sports figure began with a 15 minute golf discussion that was just a waste and should have been cut. The host shifts from being a peer to a sports fan in those episodes and it becomes a very different experience for the listener. So some episodes are wonderful and the podcast can be fabulous when he is interviewing an actor and you get to learn about the art.”
