“This COULD be an excellent podcast. There are a plethora of technical issues that lead me to give it a much poorer rating than it deserves.
The pacing is very choppy, with significant and obvious edits. It sounds like sentences were truncated or squeezed together in an unnatural flow. Also, things sound like they were re-recorded and placed back into the show. It’s very jarring and unprofessional sounding. Additionally, there are frequent issues with feedback into the microphone or fuzzy sounds that make the recording sound tinny. For example, at the end of an episode Trinity was talking about her projects the sound doubles back.
HOWEVER, the content of this show is near perfection! It’s incredibly fun! The host John Polley has an impressive and respectable background and proves to be a reputable source for Drag Race information and analysis. His impressions of RuPaul are an instant standout. The insight and behind the scenes T John and his guests bring to each episode is outstanding, and the clips/sound bites/quotes directly from the show give it a truly authentic experience you can’t get with any other Drag Race podcast.
So is it worth listening to? The answer is a resounding “Yes!” It is a podcast worthy of 5 stars, but the technical issues are amateurish and take you out of the experience. If those things improve, I will revisit this review and absolutely give it the 5 stars I know it’s worthy of.”
