Normally, a move to any small community would be a shock to a 13 yr old. But this move was particularly jarring for me. We were moving to Canada's little Russian with a history of war and peace set against a beautiful valley where two rivers meet. The 4-5 years I spent there before moving on to the Okanagan would change my life forever.
