Free lance hunting
Reid, I very much enjoyed the Saskatchewan podcast. The Orvis guides are usually thoughtful and have expertise. I am a reasonably affluent guy and love to hunt but I doubt I could ever justify both going to SK for a week or 10 days for a bunch of money and also adding another 5,000 -7,000 to hunt for three days with my son and son in law and an Orvis guide. (I don’t question their fees or the value- only affordability ). So, I think it is important for you to always discuss how to hunt an area without a guide. It really is fun if you manage expectations. You are accomplishing everything on your own and it is peaceful. ( A big objection I have to guides is that often you are with other hunters who are strangers and that is very uncomfortable; hunting is deeply personal). Your podcast is great. I appreciate the respect you have for the resources and the dogs. One other idea : lots of hunters in the Midwest. Think about some topics in that region.

I love this show. I learn a lot and enjoy the conversations with guests. It’s like trading stories with my own hunting buddies.

This podcast is defintely worth the time to listen. Though I'm not a hunter, there is still plenty of information to be gained from this podcast. I would like to see all the earlier podcasts added to the list. I want to know how to start raising a puppy??Read full review »
