“Snail is a decent hockey analyst and normally seems like a good guy, but he should apologize for and retract his absurd and uncalled for comments about hatred for people from the South and how people in warm climates don’t deserve hockey. I am not even from the South but found these comments quite offensive. Look how successful hockey has been in several warm climate cities (ex- Tampa, Carolina, Dallas, DC, Anaheim, LA). Many kids became hockey fans or players because of these teams. Just because I don’t agree on everything with people from the West Coast, South, Midwest, etc., doesn’t mean I hate people from these regions. Moreover, not everyone in the South is a Confederate flag-waving racist. People who continue to believe and perpetuate this stereotype are part of the problem in this country and are ironically just as poorly educated as the mostly imaginary people they claim to detest. Otherwise, the hockey commentary has improved lately on this show, but largely due to two very dedicated listeners who submit nearly all the questions. I think there should be a way besides twitter to submit questions.”
