Death episode
This episode is very White Western. Positing that humans don’t grieve for very long, which may indicate that the individuals who died weren’t that meaningful to us, is a very depresingly Western viewpoint. Some cultures don’t grieve because they believe ancestral life continues in other realms with direct connection to those who are living, which provides immeasurable solace, in many others grief is lifelong process that is unabating. In the West, the grieving process is brutally cut off by the capitalist pressure to work and ‘get on with it.’ This can’t be taken as an indication of innate human behaviour. Isn’t this obvious? Please provide more nuanced looks at global perspectives on topics such as this. The world has had quite enough of centring the white male viewpoint as the be all and end all
