“I saw it glint from the corner of my eye. I walked as if possessed, spellbound by its trance. I reached inside the hollow of the tree and gently removed it. My hands trembled under its enormous weight; light as it was. I clenched tightly, partly to guard it but mostly to sense its unbridled power.
He must have been watching me, yet I was so taken at the time, that I didn’t notice until it was too late. It was ripped from my grasp and ten feet away before I came to my senses. I chased as if a man possessed - it had taken mere fleeting seconds to consume me entirely.
He turned at the end of the dirt track into blinding red light that lit up the Red Field ahead. His silhouette drifted closer as I waded through the tall grass, gaining with every pace. I grabbed him from behind, his neck caving under my clasp. He made no effort to stop me; his hands gripping it tightly under his white knuckles. I stood on his wrist, his limp body made no effort to correct me. I removed each finger with equal disregard and finally wrenched it free. Lifting it up, it shone and glistened in the bright light. Finally, it was mine…..the TPSUK podcast.”
