“This new Podcast is a delightful listen leaving me wanting more. I wanted to like it and it delivers every episode. Each episode combines interesting and well researched film facts interwoven with highly informed information about Nora Ephron, her life and reflections. It shares Nora’s experiences in her own life and how this influenced and informed the films she made at different times in her life.
Shawnee Mead and Dan Colon have an authentic style, Shawnee is clearly a passionate Nora devotee and Dan, having explained how he came to find Nora’s films as his film tastes matured, seems to both enjoy hearing new facts from Shawnee and also brings his own unique insights and perspectives to the discussion. It makes for an interesting listen and they are a great host partnership, bouncing off each other’s enthusiasm. Their shared presentation style is relaxed and not over scripted so feels authentic and carries me along with them each episode.
If you want to know more about the indefatigable Nora and her complete filmography, The Podcast Around the Corner is well worth subscribing to. Can’t wait for more.”
