“Can we just pause one quick minute and acknowledge how absolutely stars and warmth it is to have a podcast with (luminary, sincere, and) experienced poets that speak not only about poetry and its craft but also that early phase—that feeling foolishness when people submitted their first poems; that interior gaffe of “wait, what IS that form?”; that early and rudderless sensation of Maybe I Oughta Quit Trying. It’s done with love, not perfunction, not condescending lilting, and it doesn’t trade off with talking about the better, higher brighter lights of poems and poets. Or maybe like I just got caught writing this in an effusive moment? But if I’m effusive—this moment has validity:::it’s an effusiveness manifest by the first 2.5 episodes!”
