Fantastic Guests, So Encouraging
It was hard for me to give this a chance. My first pregnancy was five years ago. I not only did not seek out pregnancy information, but actively avoided it. I was so frustrated with insanely conservative and counter productive recommendations, and a general refusal of many industries/organizations to give women good information and allow them to make their own choices, fitness and otherwise. I started out by rolling my eyes at phrases like “honor your body!” and “practice some brave!” But I also recognized that I was carrying over a lot of frustration and bitterness from my first pregnancy and was starting this one out in a very defensive posture. So I said to myself, “stop being such a grumpy d****e, stop projecting, and just listen.” I’m so glad I at least had enough awareness to tell myself that. Brianna brings really wonderful guests on her show who are experienced, qualified, or both. Great information based on science, and tailored to women like me. The most important thing I’ve heard is that pregnancy is NOT the time time to maintain, it is the time to ADAPT. I think about it every day, as I need a daily reminder that it’s okay to not be my usual self right now. Thank you, Brianna.
