Hitting a Niche, Great Content, Needs Polish
A weekly provincial affairs podcast for Alberta is a great concept. With the end of the CKUA news department and their weekly podcast I think this is the only podcast covering the topic (as far as I am aware). This podcast does a great job of overviewing issues and letting writters working on provincial affairs describe their stories. I give it 4 stars because of its simplicity, genuine feel and in depth coverage of relevant topics with great insights. Mariam Ibrahim and Graham Thomson are particularly excellent in the podcast and could easily do a show on their own. The persistent use of ‘edition’ for every episode, Paula Simons tendency to always yell or just hit high volumes and few other small things keep it from having a professional feel but I recommend this podcast to any political watcher interested in Alberta.

A balanced, nuanced overview of Alberta politics with some of the Edmonton Journal's leading columnists and reporters. Even when I vehemently disagree with them, I find the arguments and ideas to be compelling.Read full review »
