Majority
“…tyranny is the name of the majority…” I was stunned upon hearing the reporter statement. Not only she but her editors failed spectacularly to comprehend what she says about Xi-jinxing’s popularity. She means what the majority of the Chinese people think(majority=democracy ironically)think is irrelevant but only she can determine what’s good and right? What arrogance!!!

Great podcast series! 4 stars because Sue Ling does not seems to be a student of Putonghua (standard Chinese). ‘Xi’ is pronounced as ‘she’ not ‘’sea’. I wish she had taken the time to research this instead of perpetuating her misunderstanding !

An excellently written & produced podcast that expertly pulls together the many contradictions and challenges facing a country that is changing the world. Thank you The Economist & Wong Sue-Lin for brave and essential journalism at its finest.

This podcast series is riveting. It is so well researched and taps into amazing subject matter experts and journalists. But it also draws you in with such a deft storytelling about this man that anyone living in this age should make it their business to learn about.
