“At any pub on any corner of Newcastle you are hear novocastians discussing the skills and prowess of Mr Andrew ‘barney’ Barnett, or Mr Swisher as he is know around the watering holes of Newy. In one such public house I over heard 2 elderly gentlemen discussing or should I say arguing about Barney’s hockey days. Each gentleman argued their points in regards to Barney’s best position. “Barney was more of a dynamic left half” one gentleman shouted, while the other remarked, “get bent you moron, Barney was a tough as old boot, right full back”. Both agreed that hockey was the winner at the end of the day, and the world was a better place with Barney in it.”
