Poorly researched
This could be the best Art History Podcast out there. The author is passionate about the subject and cares about it. There are two major issues with the podcast though: mispronunciation of recurrent words such as Signoria (which any history student should know how to pronounce) is very annoying (not to mention it discredits the author’s knowledge of the subject), and the lack of depth on the subjects themselves (like glossing over important facts, such as saying both Michelangelo and Leonardo were both painting the Battle of Anghiari in the Palazzo della Signoria, when Michelangelo was actually painting the Battle of Caccina). I finally had to stop listening when the author butchered the story of Michelangelo deceiving Soderini when “fixing” the David.

Dennis Byrd references the same historical figures throughout multiple episodes to...Read full review »
