Too Edited to be an AP
Part of the fun of an actual play is the actual playing: the enjoyment of the players—the jokes, the banter, the laughter. This has none of that. It’s an audio play with numbers occasionally thrown around. The presentation is detached and comes off moderately cold, sounding scripted. The cast doesn’t play their characters, they narrate them, and scenes are edited and unnatural. It takes everything that is playing DnD out and leaves behind its carcass. You don’t need to know how to play DnD to enjoy this podcast, actually not knowing how to play would really help.
