“First the good: the survivor podcast is perfection, quickly became my new favorite pod. Tyson and Riley do an amazing job of creating a funny, informative, and analytical podcast every week. The guests have been good, too - but honestly the show is awesome even when it’s just the two of them! And I honestly love that the episodes tend to run long - you could record a ten hour episode and I would happily listen! Five stars for the pod has spoken ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The less good: I’m mostly enjoying the bake-off podcast except the energy gets way too negative… and that’s fine for some shows, but it’s just so the opposite of what GBBO is about that it ruins some of the fun. In this past episode, I had to skip ahead full minutes because it was just piling on all the cast over and over, especially Paul and Pru. I think there’s a line between lovingly discussing the quirks of people and straight up making fun of them. If I’m being honest, Sasha brings most of the negative, judgmental energy. I get it, you hate Paul Hollywood, Amanda, etc. and you think Jürgen is awkward. Not everyone has to provide witty banter in a baking show, they’re there because they bake well, not because they’re comedians. Why repeatedly tear down Amanda because she made it farther than you thought she should? Even if true, that wouldn’t be her fault - she’s just a nice and talented woman doing her best to bake well. We don’t have to criticize contestants on a personal level just because they’re not your favorite 🤷🏼♀️
GBBO is so wonderful because of the way it exudes so much kindness and positivity, and it really brings down the happy vibes when this podcast turns to snarking excessively, even about Paul. He has his particular quirks… but even he is part of this wonderful show, and I just don’t need to hear you bash him at every opportunity. The show isn’t about him. Stop making it about how much you dislike him and maybe just focus on what you do like about all the people in the tent.”
