Fascinating, but too much music
As someone involved in smaller but similar churches in the UK in the 90s I am finding this podcast absolutely fascinating. (I see now where the inspiration for some of the troubling things said from the pulpit came from!) I’d give it 5 stars, but for the almost continuous music throughout the episodes which frequently makes it very difficult to hear what people are saying. There was an interview with an older person near the start of episode 2 and I couldn’t make out a word they said. In several eps there’s a long stretch with bonging metallic chime music which was quite painful to my ears. Sound quality is distorted on some of the interviewees too. Too late to do anything about this show, but CT - PLEASE can you drop the “soundscape” on podcasts firmly down into the background, and make sure it’s not clashing with the voices speaking. Thanks

With only one episode to go by: I am interested, a good story, well told. Hopefully we all learn from this. Quick to Listen sold me on this. Check them out as well.

I have so enjoyed this podcast so far. They speak of tense issues with grace and nuance, and bring to light issues plaguing the church. In order to create changes, we need to know our history, and this podcast does that in a great way.

Very well made podcast. Hope that it proves as a tool to learn from these mistakes and glorify God.
