Rubin has become an alt-right echo chamber
The podcast started out with hope, with promise, with the expectation that here we would see and hear a platform totally independant from the mainstream media and in opinions. Lately however, The Rubin Report has been nothing but an echo chamber for right wing and so-called alt-right viewpoints. The only viewpoint diversity you have now have access to on The Rubin Report is how many right wing views you can hear. Dave, whilst engaging in good conversation with his guests, does not challenge them, does not take them to task for their claims. Many guests on the show have distateful opinions - which is fine, but they are also untruthful, they make up their own facts and statistics, which Rubin does not chastise them for or fact check on some important issues. looking at the roster of guests - as mentioned it is a line-up or right wing speakers. Dave has not once tackled anyone on the so-called left (Shermer etc come on the show as impartial skeptics, not espousing a particular viewpoint). There has been no advocate on trigger warnings, safe spaces etc - there has been nobody to defend or even discuss their viewpoint, while Dave and his guests take pot shots at simple ideologies in a barrel without any representative to explain. in summation, i am dissapointed that this forum seems to have lost its way, and i hope Dave is interested in diversity and dialectic and not just having the same views on every single episode. Wanna see through the BS that both liberals and conservatives espouse. Great discussions and very well rounded.

Interesting guests and really deep looks into how America is changing and evolving in regards to events around the world. Stop putting yourself on a political spectrum and seek to understand and learn about new ideas instead! This pod is a great place to do that

Some great conversations here. I do sometimes wish Dave would push a little harder and put some slightly tougher questions to his guests. But these conversations are still head and shoulders above most of what's happening in podcastland.Read full review »
