I am a Farmer.
I grew up in Ag along side my brothers and dad but never felt like I was enough of a “farmer” to hold the title even though I was actively participating alongside the men in my family doing the same tasks just not being a decision maker. I was fine holding the title “farmers daughter” checking cows, baling, cooking meals, and fixing fence but felt that I wasn’t quite a “farmer.” The stories shared gives validation and redefines what it takes to hold the title of a “farmer” and takes the shame away from not fitting in the traditional checkbox definition of being a man. I am so thankful to Katelyn and this podcast for redefining the definition of farmer and allowing me to claim my title.

I have loved each episode and can’t wait for the next. Katelyn does a great job bringing the stories of women in all aspects of ag operations to the airwaves. I appreciate the diversity of operations, stories and, geographies. Keep up the great work and building the community!
