“Hello, I am a new subscriber and I am bouncing around in the episodes listening to the ones that I need right now. I agree with the previous reviewer who states that in the beginning you sounded like you had a plan and stuck to it. In the more recent episodes there is a lot of back and forth with no direction, going off on different tangents, and not really giving advice that I was looking for based on the title of that particular episode.
Actually, as I was listening yesterday to the episode about discipline, there was so much bouncing around between the two of you that I pictured you sitting at the bar at happy hour getting a little tipsy and talking over each other about whatever you were excited about at the moment, that didn’t at all pertain to the topic I was looking for. By the time I was at my destination I was frustrated that I had spent 20 minutes in the car listening to you and had no helpful information.
I also agree with the previous reviewer when she stated that you both say “it’s just so hard!”, “it’s so tricky!” so much. I envision you working with our kiddos for a short time every day, and then going home to your quiet house with your pet and significant other, or with your neurotypical kids and you get to leave the trickiness and the challenges at work. I’m sure you still think of it, but you get a break. We live it, we are immersed in it, we are bawling our eyes out because our child is having a raging meltdown because I am asking him to wear pants for the first snow day of the season. We don’t get to leave it behind, and what we need from you is support, encouragement, and acknowledgment that we are not alone.
That being said, I am glad this podcast exists and I am grateful for both of you. I will still listen and learn, but maybe it’s time to take a look at the first few episodes and revisit why they were so successful.”
