Designing a Clean Energy Certificate with Monika Sturm, Laura Anderson, and Jason Jermark of Siemens Energy
Description
While there has been a strong shift to clean energy in recent years, there has not been a corresponding way to track the path of that clean energy from its generation all the way to its delivery. A certification process is needed.
That’s why we had three Siemens Energy team members join Amy Pempel on today’s episode of the Siemens Energy Podcast. Monika Sturm, Head of Incubation and Strategy at Digital Solutions Siemens Energy; Laura Anderson, Senior VP of Controls and Digitalization; and Jason Jermark, VP of Service Marketing and Sales Operations all shared their perspectives on this developing technology of clean energy certification.
We started the conversation by asking why energy needs to be certified in the first place. We elaborated on the corresponding desire of many companies to prove that they are net-neutral, which an energy certificate could certainly help do.
Monika, Laura, and Jason also shared:
How different regions of the world are approaching this problem in different waysThe importance of this technology working across bordersThe value of designing a flexible system that can adapt to customer feedback and new regulationsYou’ll also hear about the ability of all stakeholders to view the energy certificates at any time using blockchain technology.
