Sidney Crosby may have been born with an incredible amount of natural talent, but if you ask anyone who knew him as a kid they'll all tell you that he was also one of the most determined, hard working athletes they'd met.
So how does a coach take on the responsibility of shaping a young talent like Sidney's before he makes the NHL? We sit down with Maritime Sports Hall of Fame inductee Paul Mason who shares stories of what it was like coaching Crosby as a young athlete, and eventually being called the most influential coach Sidney has ever had.
We learn about his commitment to the community of Cole Harbour, and his belief in instilling such values into all of the kids he has coached throughout his career. Before he was a Pittsburgh Penguin, Sidney Crosby was a Cole Harbour Red Wing, and that's an institution that Paul Mason helped build.
