Another soccer-player-turned-coach here on Soccer Mom Sunday! Host Jen Siess talked with St. Louis University Soccer Great, Brionna Halverson. During her six years as a student-athlete at SLU, Bri earned a multitude of individual honors - from Defensive Player of the Year, to All Conference recognition, to their 25th Anniversary team and more. All of her individual efforts helped her Billiken team towards some of their best records, including five A-10 tournament titles, four A-10 regular-season crowns, five NCAA tournaments, and SLU’s school-record 15 shutouts and 0.45 goals against average that ranked third in the nation. NOW, Bri is focused on soccer life after playing, currently as a SLU Assistant Coach, reminding us that “soccer is a game of seconds” and when it comes to an athlete’s self-advocacy, “don’t take their voice from them.”
