Joy Harjo, is an American poet, musician, playwright, author, and the incumbent United States Poet Laureate. Her poetry contains the wisdom of a sage and the intensity of a rebel. Against the capitalistic sky, she paints the myriad colors of nature, and takes us beyond that artificial sky, into the human essence.
