“I’ve always been an outdoorsman (wilderman) and coming from the Rocky Mountains to the Beaches of Western Florida 4 years ago I was in search of an ocean adventure. Fly fishing was in my blood but fishing the Mountain West there was always a physical challenge getting to the the best fishing holes. I was thirsting for anything hunting, fishing, etc. something that encompassed it all that also came along with a physical challenge. One day I was invited to Scallop in the Gulf of Mexico and it was the best day I had “in the water”. I immediately went out and got a pole spear and started hunting my local waters...which led me to lots of research and to this podcast. The stories I’ve listened to here and the knowledge that you and your guests share solidified my obsession with spearfishing / freediving. This weekend I completed my PFI training course and met a few buddies…with a new mindset of safety and humility I will do my best to represent the people and the sport of spearfishing.
