Immersive, informative, learning made fun
Tyler’s love for gear differs from a lot of “experts” you find on pods and Youtube clips because he doesn’t find value in the specs; a camera or lens or other piece of equipment has value if it’s actually useful, and it useful if it is also practical. Tyler comes from a perspective of someone who is excited to learn, and that’s what makes the way he teaches and discusses a myriad of topics so fun. The podcast is mostly suitable for photographers and videographers thinking seriously about making images for a living, right up to the level of those entering the true commercial space and finding their way. Like all enthusiasts he has his biases, but he’s at least transparent about them, and at the end of the day he is if nothing else an extremely fair assesser of both product and process. My favourite part about the listen is the cadence with which he speaks; grab a cup of coffee and a notepad and pen and he’s got you covered.
