Dude you need to be realistic about yourself
I love your passion to share science but your opening 7 minutes rambling about yourself is a cure for insomnia. People want to listen to the guests and not you doing a monologue. You need a really keen sense of humour to do a preamble on a science show and take such random detours. I mean, traffic? come on. You don’t have the juice. It’s totally fine. Most people don’t. Just be honest and focus on what you probably do well. Introduce us to cool guests and guide a conversation that is relevant to listeners. Listen to the Axe Files or something. It’s never about the interviewer. It’s about the subject!!!

I greatly enjoy this, as someone who as a kid, wanted to be a theoretical astrophysicist. The biggest issue is he constantly panders for 5 star reviews. I agree it’s a great podcast, but don’t seem desperate, or it will detract listeners.
