“This is an interesting topic and I feel the mission to try and look at it away from the black and white view point is a good one. The first couple of episodes felt balanced and fair.
But as the podcast goes on it feels increasingly biased. It feels unequal airtime is given to ‘gender critical’ people like Hadley Freeman and critical parents. I felt the treatment of Mermaids was particularly harsh.
For example, in episode 5, the journalist notes that the CQC says that the majority of parents are happy with the service - so why are we only hearing from critical parents?
It ultimately feels like the journalist has an agenda, which is a shame. I tried to go in with an open mind, but I’m left feeling frustrated and so sad for the children whose parents keep misgendering them.”
