Time well-spent, and here’s why
Whether you a Christian wanting to know the Bible better, an atheist interested in learning more, or a hobbyist historian curious about the intersection of religious and non-religious documents, Matt Whitman makes it clear that this podcast is for you. I started listening on a daily basis at the start of the Esther series. This podcast now accompanies my morning coffee and commute to work. It helps me begin the day with a fresh perspective on a familiar story, and I feel like I learned a little something right at the outset of my day. As a Christian myself, I appreciate the historically informed perspective that Matt brings to scripture. When he is speaking from bias, he states it clearly. Most episodes come with a thought-provoking takeaway that makes me want to go back to the source text and read it again. That last part is why I keep listening — this podcast drives me back towards the Bible, and that, to me, is a gift beyond measurable value.

I love listening to Matt dive into the Scripture every morning. It has been very informative, and he does a great job at tying different aspects of the scripture into what he is reading. It is an easy listen, and I have really enjoyed using the podcast as a form of daily devotion.

Love the short but frequent format. Matt is great at laying aside pre-conceived notions and bias and simply discussing a topic from multiple points of view. He gives his opinion in a loving, humble way which is one thing that Christianity needs more of. I love his graciousness.

It is a well-known truth that if you want to teach well you need to be able to take high-quality information and make it interesting. Matt has done this on a level I’ve never seen before for Biblical content. I am recommending this podcast to all my friends.
