“Hello Rod,
Back in the day, Peter Lonard was my favourite golfer when watching the Australasian and PGA Tours. In between Norman and the Jason Day, Lonard just seemed to keep getting it done. As you touched on in the pod, he won the The Aussie Masters, PGA and Open on multiple occasions and his short arm jab swing was a thing of beauty in my eyes. Having not really heard him much, that I can remember anyway, the stories, particularly the one about Tiger brought back memories from those days. Being a member of The Doon and hearing him talk about being a member at The Aussie and The Lakes, it’s a case of so near yet so far. I’d love to be a member walking into the pro shop, asking who I was playing with and being told it was Peter Lonard, what a treat that’d be!
So thank you Rod for exposing some of his stories on this pod and keep up the great work your doing. Incidentally, the Kathy and Bob Shearer pod was fantastic as well.
