Description
Do you find you need, and enjoy, time alone thinking? Do you struggle to engage with a team member who's always "in their head?"
If so, then this episode of The Thoughtful Talents Show is for you as we spotlight the CliftonStrengths® Intellection® talent theme. To help us understand this theme we invited fellow e2grow & Gallup Certified Strengths Coaches, Marjonne van den Hout & Henk Westerveld to join us for a conversation.
Henk & Marjonne share with us how this theme is driven by the idea that “thinking is doing.” It is activity all to itself. It's also never done. It’s equally critical to understand that the time they spend digesting, processing, and reflecting is of significant value to them – as are the ideas they finally share. As we have seen with other talents, what they spend time thinking about is heavily influenced by their surrounding dominant talents.
As you listen, consider these particularly important key insights:
Safe space is key. Those with Intellection® talents often finding sharing their thoughts to be a vulnerable act.Sharing their thinking isn’t the end. “Speaking up” isn’t to give an answer, but rather a continuation & deepening of the thought process.Don’t dismiss the quietness. They are always taking in and considering new information while others converse. What they share has been deeply considered. Their curiosity informs their reflective process and thinking which only adds depth to what they ultimately contribute.
After listening and considering this conversation, what might you add?
