“I recently got diagnosed with hypothyroidism (month ago). I never go to the doctor, but I am very aware of keeping myself healthy (eating, exercise, etc) and have been fairly skinny until I hit my 40s. I went into menopause around 45 or so and full menopause around early 50s. My mom always told us that her thyroid was tested in her 40s and was tested as hypo. She told us we needed to get tested. Well, since I turned 54, I decided to go back to the doctor and got blood work for everything. Everything was good except cholesterol was high and thyroid was high. I am now on levo and a statin. I go back for retest of blood work 6 weeks after starting the meds.
I found your podcast and really love it! Thank you for your information!”
