Love/Hate relationship
I’ve listened to a few things from the Tome Show, and I absolutely loved Behind the DM Screen. So when I saw reviews for books I either liked or was interested in reading, I thought hearing the opinions of people involved in the show would be great. I was deeply disappointed. The woman, Tracy, who was reviewing the books along with Jeff and Simon seemed to make all the same arguments that a freshman who decided to major in women’s studies would make. Regardless of which book I listened to, she would find some reason why is was anti-woman. It became so obnoxious that I could not keep listening. I feel like the guys felt that way too, because they would try to defend the books (oftentimes pointing out that the women in them were being treated poorly specifically by the “bad guys” of the books, or that it was portraying the treatment of women in the world, rather than the author “perpetuating rape culture”) but to no avail. There are good things in this podcast, but watch out for the bad.

Good variety of topics. My favorite is when they have someone giving DM tips but I also appreciate the news on DnD Next.

Now days with my current schedule, I do not have much time to listen to podcasts, so they have bundled up...Read full review »

Great hosts, insightful and timely conversation, great interviews. If you are into tabletop RPG’s - and D&D in particular, you are missing the boat if you don’t listen to this religiously.
