Best D&D 5e Podcast out there
The Tome Show has been making my commutes and my games better for over a year now. They've had some huge guests (Wolfgang Bauer, Mike Mearls, Ed Greenwood, RA Salvatore, and more), great discussion, and interesting content. The Appendix N Show is currently my favorite - they are reading through the "Appendix N" list of books that Gary Gygax himself cited as his sources of inspiration. The hosts and guests of the show are consistently entertaining, articulate, and very knowledgeable. I feel like I learn something new every time, and they have great ideas. Behind the DM Screen, where expert DMs recount tales form their games and discuss what to do next, is a gold mine of ideas for your own campaign. I've stolen more than a few things from it, especially some choice tidbits from their HotDQ and RoT games. All of the DMing tales are great. I wish it was updated more often! The Book Club is good. I particularly like Tracy's input on problematic gender portrayals in the fantasy genre. I've been reading fantasy for so long that sometimes I take things like this for granted and don't challenge them enough. D&D V&G has hilarious hosts that play old-school D&D video games and then tell about the experience. I always enjoy the episodes that are about games that I played in my youth. It's an enjoyable trip down memory lane. The Bonus Action podcast looks at 5th edition rules in clear and concise increments. I never delete these from my phone. When there is nothing else to listen to, I'll re-listen to these episodes to keep my rules knowledge sharp. Last but not least is the Round Table, which features a panel of industry insiders who discuss current D&D current events. The hosts have great on-air chemistry, and their discussions are focused and insightful. What more can you ask froma D&D podcast? This network of shows is producing top-notch material every week. I always get excited when I see a new episode of the Tome Show has been released, and I highly recommend it to anyone interseted in D&D.

Another D&D pod. These guys come across as grognards who love to criticize what D&D used to be. #82 was really an episode about what these guys want, rather than productive speculation about SCAG. It's really just a bunch of guys who love Pathfinder and wished 5e was more like that.Read full review »

The Tome was one of the first gaming podcasts I ever listened to. It was the first I subscribed to, when I first installed iTunes on my computer. Jeff consistently brings solid guests on the show - and I especially like the Tome Show Presents episodes. The Tome is one of the top five hobby gaming...Read full review »

Informative show and fun to listen to people talk about D&D. My only problem is the host is a little too obsessed with time and keeping the show short. If the conversation is interesting, do not worry about how long it goes. We have pause buttons for a reason.
