Looking back, we can say Rudy was the prototype for today’s wing player. His length, ability to shoot, get to the rim, defend and create was ahead of his time for his era. Coming out of Baltimore, Rudy arrived at UConn where he sharpened his game before going pro. In his 17 NBA seasons, Rudy was a walking highlight who was a star in Memphis and went on to standout years in Toronto, Sacramento, San Antonio before closing things out in Utah. In retirement, Rudy and Penny discuss the details of being a pro. As he can appreciate it now, Rudy speaks to his dedication, what the game did for his life and what he wished he knew then what he knows now.
