An Unexpected Treasure
The characters, and their respective players, are colorfully distinct and hysterical, offer some rich complexity, and nobody overpowers the moment with shenanigans... although Borky certainly tries. By far, the Dungeon Master is the real star; she breathes life into so many unique and fascinating side-characters, and her planned scenarios are epic in scale. Each new mystery about the world of Alivast is exciting and intriguing, just grounded enough that the more ludicrous elements are still believable. If I were to have any gripe, it’s the abridging (wink) of the first two arcs. And I say this only because there are some tremendous humour from the earlier adventures that, in my opinion, the first episode of the podcast doesn’t do enough justice. It’s a nitpick at most, and I understand if there were technical constraints.
