“A really excellent podcast looking at matters such as racism, class, economic justice and sexuality as philosophical issues. For those who are new to philosophy, it brings difficult concepts down to earth without simplifying them, and shows what can be gained by thinking about social issues in depths without taking our ideas for granted. For those with a philosophical grounding, in brings to light thinkers and topics that can sometimes be sidelined by mainstream traditions, and helps to connect philosophy to pressing political concerns. What I like most of all is its democratic spirit towards philosophy, revealing each of its guests as ordinary people with a diverse range of cares and concerns, who often fell into the subject by accident. The implicit (...well often explicit) message is that philosophy can be a valuable tool for a greater range of people than is sometimes portraryed, and for people who want to change the world as well as think carefully about it.”
