We’ve had a fantastic chat with Aussie ex-pat Bryce Seales on the V8 Sleuth Podcast powered by Castrol.
A veteran of the Australian and United States racing scenes, Seales has been on staff at NASCAR Cup Series squad Trackhouse Racing for several years. He very generously interrupted a holiday back at home to drop into V8 Sleuth headquarters to tell a few stories, and we’re releasing the first two parts of our chat this week.
In Part 2, Seales talks about getting started in touring car racing with Murray Carter prior to departing overseas, and how it led him to land a job with Glenn Seton Racing upon his return in the early 1990s. He shares his view on the team’s rollercoaster seasons running Falcons in Peter Jackson colours, from winning the Australian Touring Car Championship in 1993 to Seton’s heartbreaking Bathurst loss in 1995.
We then cover off his years at Perkins Engineering, from his job interview with Larry Perkins to working on Russell Ingall’s car throughout the 1996 and 1997 seasons, culminating in victory in the Bathurst 1000 - and another move overseas!
