We’ve had a fantastic chat with Aussie ex-pat Bryce Seales on the V8 Sleuth Podcast powered by Castrol.
A veteran of the Australian and United States racing scenes, Seales has been on staff at NASCAR Cup Series squad Trackhouse Racing for several years and very generously interrupted a holiday back at home to drop into V8 Sleuth headquarters to tell a few stories.
We’re releasing the last two parts this week. In Part 3, Seales talks about moving back to the United States after landing a gig in the CART World Series and shares some stories that highlight the vast amount of money that engine manufacturers burned through in pursuit of horsepower, as well as a sad tale of what might have been amid a tragic period for the championship.
He also talks about his brief stint in the Indy Racing League working for Eddie Cheever, a bizarre job interview with a leading open-wheel team, and making his way back to Australia and returning to Supercars with PWR Racing and the Holden Racing Team.
