Bathurst 1000 winner Todd Hazelwood – as he will now forever be introduced! – joins us for this week’s edition of the V8 Sleuth Podcast powered by Castrol for a look back at the remarkable path that his career has taken.
Hazelwood starts Part 2 reliving the year that he says “broke” him; the 2018 season where he and Matt Stone Racing stepped up to the Supercars Championship. He opens up on the challenges of that year and how it led to him having to leave the team at the end of the following year.
He talks about his two seasons with Brad Jones Racing, including his maiden Supercars pole and maiden podium finish - albeit one he regards with a bit of an asterisk - and his return to MSR for 2022. Hazelwood also goes in-depth on his switch to the Blanchard Racing Team for the inaugural season of Gen3 and it unravelled, before revealing just how bad co-driver Brodie Kostecki was feeling in the lead-up to their Bathurst 1000 victory - and just how bad Todd was feeling after it!
