Lacklustre story presented capably
The podcast is advertised as a dive into the impact of vaping on teenagers, but fails to intrigue. The serious issue is handled well, and the production is high-quality, but the actual content is mostly unimpressive. The company and advertising, the social impact, and the story of the founders, all lack punch. While Juul was clearly promoted dangerously, this story could easily have been told in 4 episodes, rather than 6. Journalism takes a backseat to storytelling, which is fine, but cuts against the image the podcast portrays. Overall, this podcast is mostly quite boring. A story with no real interest is told well, but falls flat. The nail in the coffin is using a clip as part of the intro, ‘they probably did this on purpose’, and seemingly not using it in the actual podcast.

More reviews of The Vaping Fix
