“Something missing from much contemporary cultural commentary is a clear and demonstrated grasp of historical perspective. Though it may seem otherwise, and as others would seem to deny, there is nothing new under the sun. As I’ve listened to your podcasts for over a year, this truth is consistently affirmed each episode. Considering the fact that great nations and societies have failed in the past, it’s not always edifying to consider the eventual end our current trajectory seems to indicate as you describe it. Yet, the disease must be diagnosed before the medicine can be administered.
One modest request…please bring back the theme music from The Classicist! Or at least tell me what it is…
